Relaxation: about
Definition
The relaxation , upon assignment to a geometric entity, defines the progression of the node density on it while taking into account the neighboring constraints of geometry and mesh.
When the information concerns the assignment of the density in the nodes on:
- lines, this is called Line Relaxation
- faces, this is called Face Relaxation
- volumes, this is called Volume Relaxation
Example: Line Relaxation on the lines of face 2:
Progression of the assignment of the nodes taking into account the mesh of face 1 line.
Aided mesh
Within the framework of the global adjustment via aided mesh:
- the relaxation AIDED_RELAXLINE is created and assigned by default in Flux to all the free lines
- the relaxation AIDED_RELAXFACE is created and assigned by default in Flux to all the free faces
- the relaxation AIDED_RELAXVOLUME is created and assigned by default in Flux to all the free volumes in 3D
The value of these entities can only be modified via aided mesh.
Domain of application
The relaxation is applied to the lines, faces and volumes meshed by the automatic mesh generator.
Local adjustment
The process of local adjustment comprises the following two phases:
- Creation of an instance line/face/volume relaxation
- Application of the relaxation to the lines/faces/volumes
