Description

1. This option can be used to directly run OptiStruct and optimize the model or the export the OptiStruct model data with Optimization setup.
2. Various parameters like optimization algorithm, maximum number of design iteration and objective tolerance can be defined.
3. The parameters for controlling free shape re-meshing can be defined.

Free Shape Re-meshing

The following re-meshing methods are performed by SimLab,

1. By default when free shape optimization is submitted from SimLab if the optimization stops due to excessive mesh distortion. SimLab will post a message.

   

   If Yes the free shape design space in the resultant model will be re-meshed and again submitted for optimization.

2. Re-Mesh on iteration can be used to re-mesh the free shape design space after each specified number of iteration and the optimization will be performed.

   

   The optimization will be continued until optimization has converged or if the maximum number of design iteration is reached.

3. Max number of Re-Mesh trials will automatically re-mesh the free shape design space for the specified number of trials and try to converge the optimization.

   

   This option will re-mesh only when the optimizer stops due to excessive mesh distortion. This option cannot be used along with Re-Mesh on iteration option.
