Introduction

This tool is used to specify design space constraint for the available design space.

Topology Optimization

Select the design space for which you need to specify the topology design space constraints.

The following constraints / parameters of topology design space can be defined,
  • Size constraint
    • Minimum thickness for shell
  • Manufacturing Constraints:
    • Casting constraint
    • Extrusion constraint
    • Overhanging constraints
  • Aligned mesh flow
  • Pattern Constraints:
    • Plane symmetry
    • Cyclic
    • Cyclic Symmetry

Blocked Region (CFD Topology Optimization)

  • Using Design space constraint, we can model solid blockage in the design space for topology optimization of multiple flow paths.
  • In the absence of result data for the extraction of blockage region, the depended optimization solution will be run first, followed by the dependent solution.
  • We can specify the criteria for the blocked region extraction in design space constraint dialog.

Free Shape Design Space Constraint
