Remove Duplicate Nodes
Dialog Box
Duplicate nodes refer to nodes that are present in the same location. For nFx mesh, it is not desired to have duplicate nodes.
Remove Duplicate Nodes tool helps to
- Identify the duplicate nodes in hex / point bodies, and
- Remove the duplicate nodes from point bodies.
Identifying Duplicates:
To check for duplicate nodes, select hex and/or point bodies and choose Show Body Pairs. It will populate the table with the body pairs across which duplicate nodes are present. If the body itself has duplicates nodes, i.e., duplicate nodes are present within the body, then the corresponding body name will be added in both Preserve Body and Delete Body.
Select the body pair to highlight the duplicate nodes.
Removing Duplicates:
Based on the order in which the bodies are selected, the preserve body and the delete body will be displayed. When removing the duplicate nodes, the nodes in the preserve body will be retained and the nodes in the delete body will be deleted. Swap pair option is used to swap the preserve and the delete bodies. This gives control to the user to decide which body nodes to be retained and which are to be deleted.

Example
Duplicates nodes between red point body and green point body are highlighted. If red body is preserved, then the nodes will be removed from the green body and vice-versa.

Select all the body pair for which the duplicate nodes have to be removed and click Apply. The number of nodes deleted will be updated in the Output Window.
