Remote Server Settings

This dialog is used to Add / Edit / Delete PBS remote servers for solving the solutions on server.

Description

Server

  • Add

    This option is used to add a PBS remote server.

  • Edit

    This option is used to edit the selected server.

  • Delete

    This option is used to delete the selected server.

SimLab Client Configuration (Windows)

Step 1. Add a valid PBS server in Remote Server Settings dialog.

Step 2. Load SimLab database with solution.

Step 3. Go to solution tab and right click on “Results” option and select “Update (Remote Solve)”

Step 4. It will open the following window. On the window, Enter the details and press “Submit” to start the job.

  • Number of cores per node - This option is used to specify the number of core per node for the job

  • Number of nodes – This option is used to specify the number of nodes for the job.

  • Maximum RAM allocation (MB) - This option is used to specify the maximum RAM memory.

Step 5. After the job is submitted, you can track the jobs status in the below window .

SimLab Server configuration (PBS)

Step 1: SimLab installation
  1. Install the "AltairSimLab2023_linux64.bin" software on the server machine.
  2. Open the file "/etc/pad-site.config" on the server machine and specify the SimLab installation path as follows:

    Example:SimLab2023_EXECUTABLE=/apps/2023/altair/SimLab/bin/linux64/SimLab.sh

    If the file does not exist in the server machine, create the file, and specify the same.

Step 2: PBS Installation

Install the latest version of Altair PBS Professional using the default installation settings (Refer to "Altair PBS Professional Installation and Upgrade Guide" for more information).
