Get Started with EDEM
The EDEM user interface comprises three icons for each simulation component - Creator, Simulator, and Analyst.
EDEM Creator
EDEM Creator is the pre-processor for creating an EDEM simulation model, including setting up equipment and defining the generation of bulk materials.
EDEM Simulator
EDEM Simulator is a powerful solver used for fast and efficient simulations.
EDEM Analyst
EDEM Analyst is the post-processor used to analyze and visualize the results of your simulation.
- Analyst Tree-Display
  Analyst Tree-Display allows you to configure the display of your model in the Viewer. You can visualize Cylindrical Periodic Boundary conditions from the Geometries section.
- Analyst Tree-Setup Selections
  Analyst Tree-Selections allows you to extract data from a particular area or element in the domain.
- Analyst Tree-Tools
  Analyst Tree-Tools comprises the Ruler, Protractor, and Domain Grid.
- Analyst Tree-Clipping
  Analyst Tree-Clipping allows you to remove or clip areas of the model that are currently not of interest.

  - Create Videos
    EDEM allows you to export videos as AVI, WMV (Windows Media Video), MP4, MKV, WebM, or EnSight video files.
- Export Data
  You can export the data collected during your simulation for analysis using queries. Data can be exported from a single Time Step, a range of Time Steps, from all elements in your model, or from a selection or bin group.

Create Videos

EDEM allows you to export videos as AVI, WMV (Windows Media Video), MP4, MKV, WebM, or EnSight video files.

To create videos:

Use the animation controls to select a Start point.
The video will be exported from this point onward.
Set the Step factor in the Viewer controls pane by specifying the following details:
1. Use the controls in the Tools menu to set the display of the Axis key, Boundary box, and Time Stamp.
2. Increase the particle detail to improve the appearance of particles.
3. Click the in the Viewer. to record the animation.
  
  The Export Images/Video dialog box is displayed.
  
  Any Time Step changes in the Analyst are recorded as a video, and the record video icon changes to while recording.
Use the animation controls to play or step through the simulation.
Optionally, you can also change the display of the Viewer while recording.
