Rivet

Connect multiple part with rivets of a given diameter or by finding the cylindrical holes automatically.

Virtual rivets act like perfectly rigid nail-like structures between connected parts.
  1. In the Project Tree, open the Connections workbench.
  2. In the Connections workbench, select Virtual connectors > Rivets.
  3. Use one of the following methods to create the rivet.
    ToDo this
    Create rivets at coaxial holes
    1. Select the Rivets at coaxial holes radio button.
    2. Click Find. The coaxial holes from the imported CAD geometry are found automatically.
    3. Click OK.
    Create rivets at blind holes
    1. Select the Rivets at blind holes radio button.
    2. Click Find. The blind holes from the imported CAD geometry are found automatically.
    3. Click OK.
In cases of multiple diameters present while creating rivets through blind holes, SimSolid adjusts according to the diameter of the hole. If the part does not have a hole, it takes the smallest diameter and creates a rivet according to that diameter value.

    Pick rivet location
    1. Select the Stand-alone rivets radio button.
    2. Enter Rivet diameter.
    3. In the modeling window, select locations on the model.
    Import rivets from CSV
    1. Select the Import rivets from CSV radio button.
    2. Click Import.
    3. Browse to the desired CSV file.
    4. Click Open
    5. Enter Rivet diameter.
  4. Click OK.
The connector will appear in the Connections branch. If selected, it will be visually represented in the modeling window.
