Boundary Layer
Description
Boundary Layer option is used to create layers of Tet / Penta element along the selected surface boundaries.
The Penta Layer tool is used for water jacket meshing. A layer of Penta elements are created from the faces selected. The result will be two bodies with one containing the volume mesh(penta elements) and the other containing the shell faces.Limitation: Input faces should be selected from same body.
Layer Thickness- Uniform: When thickness is defined using this option, the thickness value you provide will be distributed equally among the layers.
- Fraction: In this type of thickness definition, user can enter the fraction of the total thickness in all the layers. Obviously the sum of all the fractions will equal 1.
- Individual: Absolute thickness value can be entered for individual layers. Total Thickness will be disabled in this option.
No of layers required along the thickness.
Mesh sizeThe Mesh size basically denotes the average element size. It will be calculated automatically and updated in the dialog box. However, the user can enter the value.
