Decimate Mesh

Use the Decimate tool to coarsen mesh based on a defined element size.

  1. From the Discrete ribbon, click the Decimate tool.

  2. Select surfaces or parts to consider.
  3. Enter a size threshold.
    Any input elements that have edge lengths smaller than this size value are decimated.
  4. Enter a feature angle constraint.
    Any input elements that have a defined angle less than this value are decimated. For inputs with higher curvature, define a higher angle to loosen the constraint.
  5. Click Decimate.
