Cam Die - Filler

The Cam Die - Filler is a die insert with a cam action that completes bottom die.

  1. In the Operation section, select Add Operation.
  2. Select an operation.
  3. Select Add Tool.
  4. In the Add Tool window, select the Cam Die - Filler tool.
  5. Click the Cam Die - Filler tool again.

    The guide bar appears.

  6. In the guide bar, choose Part or Surface.
  7. In the modeling window, select the Part or Surface where you would like to designate the Cam Die - Filler.
  8. Choose one of the following:
    • Offset-If the part requires an offset, on the guide bar, select the Offset check box, then click Create, or click to confirm. In the microdialog, type in a value for the offset. The default is the sheet thickness plus 20%.
    • Duplicate-If you can create the cam pad by copying a part, click Duplicate and the bottom binder will appear.
    • Partition-Click Partition to remove the selected surface(s) and move them to a new part.
  9. Click to confirm your selection.
  10. To define the stroke, in the microdialog, select To Closed position or Stroke Value. For Stroke Value, type in the value for the stroke, then click to confirm.
    Note: By default, the Stroke Value is 0. The default Stroke Value is auto-calculated based on the open position of the Cam Die- Filler. Use the Edit Tool Position satellite tool to define the open position of the Cam Die-Filler.
  11. Edit the Cam Die - Filler using the microdialog options in the table below.

    Change the Velocity of the Cam Die - Filler movement Click , then enter a value for Velocity.
    Define the Coulomb Friction Coefficient Click , then enter a value for the Coulomb Friction Coefficient.
    Align the Cam Die - Filler to the global axis Click the dropdown arrow, and disable Global.
    Use the manipulator to move the Cam Die - Filler Click, then use the white arrows and microdialog options to adjust the position of the Cam Die - Filler.
    Reverse the direction of the Cam Die - Filler Click Reverse .
    Align the Cam Die - Filler to the X axis Click , or enter a value for X.
    Align the Cam Die - Filler to the Y axis Click , or enter a value for Y.
    Align the Cam Die - Filler to the Z axis Click , or enter a value for Z.
  12. In the guide bar, click Apply.
    The Cam Die - Filler moves along the cam direction to the open position.
  13. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
