The construction by propagation is a building method that allows the construction of new geometric entities based on already existing entities by using a geometric transformation like translation, rotation, …

Example

In the figure below, the image face is built by propagation of the existing source face using a translation vector.

We deal with:

  • propagation, when the image object, generated by transformation, is not connected by lines to the source object
  • extrusion, when the image object, generated by transformation, is connected by lines to the source object
