Quick Tour of Model Protection in the Interface

View the main elements and terminology related to protecting a model with a password.

  1. Protect a model with a password, remove protection from a model or import the model as a protected component into another model. Protection is available on the Home tab.
  2. The Protection contextual tab set is active when a model is password protected. It allows granting or revoking access to entities and making changes to the representation (display) of the protected component.

  3. When access is granted to a workplane, its is indicated by the icon in the model tree.
  4. When access is granted to a port, its is indicated by the icon in the model tree.
  5. The representation of the password protected component is available under Unprotected Information if it was moved from the model.
  6. The icon in the status bar indicates that the model is protected with a password.
