Description

This tool is used to break a set of bodies or faces using a plane, cylinder, box, polygon and cone.

Plane

This is used to break a body or set of faces on FEM/CAD model using a plane. The plane can be defined using Define/Modify Plane button.

CAD (Parasolid)

Select Break bodies with Combine as connected body toggle OFF to split the body into two along the defined plane.

Select Break bodies with Combine as connected body toggle ON to create connected body along the defined plane.

Select Break faces to break faces along the defined plane.

Select Create sheet body from cut section to create a sheet profile from the cut section.

This is supported only for CAD (Parasolid) imported with Save geometry in database option enabled.

Mesh

Select Create internal face to create internal faces while breaking.

Select Break bodies to split the body into two.

Cylinder

This is used to break a body or set of faces on FEM/CAD model using a cylinder. The cylinder can be defined using Define/Modify Cylinder button.

Select Create internal face to create internal faces while breaking.

Select Break bodies to split the body into two.

CAD (Parasolid)

Box

This is used to break a body or set of faces using a box. The box can be defined using Define/Modify Box button.

Select Break body to break the body.

Select Break face to break only the faces.

Polygon

This is used to break a body or set of faces using a polygon (set of edges) in linear and circular direction.

Use Define/Modify Direction button to define the direction for linear option.

Use Define Axis button to define the axis for circular option.

Select Create internal face to create internal faces while breaking.

Select Break bodies to split the body into many.
