Dialog Box

This tool is used to simplify the input bodies to primitive shapes (Box / Cylinder / Hollow cylinder). A virtual region representing the simplified shape for the input bodies gets displayed. If needed, edit it for the desired dimension.

Create CAD - Parasolid

  • Turn the toggle ON to simplify the input body to a CAD (Parasolid) body. If the input is from a Parasolid model imported with Save geometry in database option enabled, then the simplified body will get created in the input model itself. Otherwise, it will create a new Parasolid model, and the subsequently simplified primitives will get added to this model.
  • Turn the toggle OFF to create a simplified mesh body for the given mesh size and element type.

Simplify each body

If the toggle is ON, each body gets simplified to its specified shape. Otherwise, all input bodies get simplified as a single shape.

  • Turn on Skip boxes toggle to skip the existing primitive bodies from the selection to avoid creating the same shape again and again.
  • Change in Volume (%) is less than: If the toggle is ON, it retains from the input only those bodies whose change in volume between the original and simplified shape satisfies the specified value.
    • Update Display: If the percentage value gets edited, click this button to update the body selection.

    • Simplify each body toggle ON

    • Simplify each body toggle OFF

    • Consider contiguous bodies as one body

      Turn on this toggle to simplify all the adjacent and nearby bodies by the specified shape. For those bodies without any adjacent bodies, they get simplified individually.

  • Highlighted input bodies get grouped and simplified into box, as shown below.

Simplify bodies identical to input bodies

If the toggle is ON, bodies identical to input bodies will also get simplified. If more than one body gets simplified into a shape (Simplify each body toggle OFF), then the body patterns similar to the input bodies will also get simplified.

  • Simplify visible bodies only

    Turn the toggle ON to simplify only visible identical bodies.

    Highlighted input bodies get simplified into a box, as shown below.

  • Output

    Identical bodies will also get simplified, as shown below, based on the toggle status.

Delete input bodies

Turn on the toggle to delete the base bodies that got simplified.

Suppress input bodies

Turn on the toggle to suppress the base bodies that got simplified.
