Radio (Transmitter)

Station > Define Equipment > Radio

The Create Radio dialog specifies the properties of a transmitter or receiver that is connected to an antenna for a co-site interference calculation.

Radio Type

Select the transmitter option.

Antenna

From the antenna drop-down-list, select the antenna the radio is linked to.

Peak Power

Enter the peak power in dBW for the transmitter.

Duty Cycle

Specify the duty cycle percentage.

Carrier Frequency

Specify the carrier frequency for the transmitter.

Spectrum Mask

Create a spectrum mask table by selecting the table button and importing the frequency delta and power values.

Note: The frequency definitions are given as offsets from the carrier frequency.

Occupied Bandwidth

Specify the occupied bandwidth of the transmitter. The occupied bandwidth is defined as the frequency band such that below the lower and above the upper frequency limits, the mean powers emitted are each equal to a specified percentage β/2 of the total mean.

Necessary Bandwidth

Enter the necessary bandwidth. The necessary bandwidth is defined as the width of the frequency band which is just sufficient to ensure the transmission of information at the rate and with the quality required under specified conditions.

Harmonic Attenuation

Specify the second to thirteen order harmonic attenuation for the radio.

IM Attenuation

Specify the intermodulation (IM) attenuation for the second and third order components.
