Import a Flexible Body

Import a flexible body with an OptiStruct-generated .h3d file.

It is assumed that there are existing interface nodes in the .h3d. Hard points are automatically added at each interface node so that new connection entities, such as joints, can be added.
  1. On the Motion ribbon, under Profile, select Analyst.

  2. Under Flex Body, select the Flex Body Import tool.

Tip: To find and open a tool, press Ctrl+F. For more information, see Find and Search for Tools.
  3. Click the Apply Apply button button.
  4. Browse and select the flex body .h3d file.
Upon importing the flex body, hard points are automatically added to all interface nodes on the flex part. This allows various motion entities, such as joints, forces, or springs to be attached to it. These points will have the node ID appended to the name of the point.
