Overview

- Run OptiStruct
  The execution of OptiStruct is described here.
- Elements
  Elements are a fundamental part of any finite element analysis, since they completely represent (to an acceptable approximation), the geometry and variation in displacement based on the deformation of the structure.
- Materials
  The different material types provided by OptiStruct are: isotropic, orthotropic, and anisotropic materials. The material property definition cards are used to define the properties for each of the materials used in a structural model.
- High Performance Computing
  High Performance Computing leverages computing power, in standalone or cluster form, with highly efficient software, message passing interfaces, memory handling capabilities to allow solutions to improve scalability and minimize run times.

  - Transfer Path Analysis
    Transfer Path Analysis (TPA) is used to estimate and rank the noise or vibration contributions via the different structural transmission paths in a system.
  - Brake Squeal Analysis
    Analysis of the noise, vibration and harshness of brake systems is an essential study from the standpoint of the automotive industry. An important aspect of vehicle comfort is the quietness of the brake system.
  - Global Search Option
    The global search option is incorporated directly in OptiStruct. It does not require an external program to run with OptiStruct.
  - Basic OptiStruct NVH Output Files

    All the .pch files should be in the same directory and the $label values should be the same.
