Merge and Split Parts

Use the Merge/Split tool to merge parts or split them by connectivity or by face.

1. From the Assembly ribbon, click the Merge/Split tool.

2. Select parts to consider.
3. Select an operation from the drop-down menu on the guide bar.

   Option	Description
   Merge`	Join multiple parts together
   Split by Connectivity	Split a part into multiple parts based on the connectivity of surfaces. Parts are created out of connected surface patches.
   Split by Face	Split a part into multiple parts based on a feature angle. Go to File > Preferences > Geometry to adjust the feature angle. Parts are created out of surface face patches.
