Define Rotational Periodic Conditions
Use the Periodic: Rotation tool to define periodic boundaries with rotational periodicity. Rotational periodic boundary conditions specify that the values of all variables on surface pairs are equal.
-
From the Flow ribbon, click the tool.
-
Select source surfaces.
If target surfaces are already selected, updating the source selection will reset the existing target selection.
- Click the Target selector on the guide bar.
-
Select target surfaces.
You will only be able to select surfaces which can form rotational periodicity with the source selection.
If any of the source surfaces do not have a compatible target surface, the tool will not allow you to select any target surfaces.
Upon valid target selection, a preview of the transformation axis displays. - Optional:
In the dialog, specify precedence, active type, and linked surface
outputs.
The active type determines if the periodicity definition is considered or not.
-
From the guide bar, execute the command in the following
ways:
- Click to confirm your selection and remain in the
tool.
This allows you to continue creating instances and helps you visualize and edit instances with the legend.
- Click to confirm your selection and exit the tool.
