Use the Notes tool to add annotations in the modeling window.

  1. From the Post ribbon, click the Notes tool.

  2. Use the drop-down menu on the guide bar to select the type of note.
    Static
Notes that are static will not move if you manipulate the model.
This is useful for adding titles while capturing images or recording.
    Anchored
Anchor a note to any object or spatial position. The note will move as you manipulate model and will be anchored in the defined location.
This is useful if notes are created for specific part or surfaces.
    Call out
Point to any object or spatial location. The note will move as you manipulate model and will be anchored in the defined location.
This is useful if notes are created for specific part or surfaces.
  3. Select a location in the modeling window to place the note.
    Figure 2.
  4. Define note text and formatting in the dialog and/or update the note's positioning.
    1. Type the display text in the box on the right.
    2. Select an available field from list on the left, then click Insert Field to add it to the note. For the time or frequency field, define the precision and format.
Note: When working with multiple datasets, several different use cases arise for time annotations. For more information, see Transient Animation Toolbar.
    3. Update text formatting such as fonts, size, color, and alignment.
    4. If needed, click to reposition a note or anchor point using the Move tool.
  5. On the guide bar, click to confirm your selection and remain in the tool or click to confirm your selection and exit the tool.
