- Set Tryout Preferences
  Set preferences for tryout analysis.
- Define the Blank
  Define the blank in the tool set including the blank type, material, roll direction, and symmetry planes as required.
  - Define the Blank Type and Material
    Identify the blank type in your model as single or tailor-welded, and assign a material to the blank.
  - Define Symmetry
    Define a symmetry plane on a part.
  - Apply Constraints
    Use the Constraints tool to hold a part so that it maintains its designated position throughout the forming process.
  - Define the Roll Direction
    Define the direction of the coil of sheet metal from which the blank was cut.
  - Define Blank Transfer
    A finished part shape is created by forming a blank in multiple operations. The blank needs to be transferred from one operation location to the next to complete the manufacturing process. By default, the blank is always shown in the previous operation position. Blank transfer moves the blank and locates it in the next operation position.

Define Symmetry

Define a symmetry plane on a part.

Guidelines for creating a symmetry plane:

The symmetry plane must be orthogonal to the draw direction of the model.
The symmetry plane must not be parallel to any existing symmetry planes in the model.

On the Tryout tab, select the Add/Edit Symmetry Planes tool in the Constraints tool group.
On the model, select an edge on a plane. The selected edge must be on a plane and the plane must be orthogonal to the draw direction if the draw direction is defined.
A preview of the symmetry plane is displayed if the selection is valid.
