Standards for electrical steel sheets

In most of the technical documents, the electrical steel sheets are appointed in this way: M800-50A (E.U standard, BS EN 10106). The various parts of the name have the following meaning:

  • M : Magnetic
  • 800 : 8.00 W/kg (iron losses per kilogram) for B = 1.5 T at the frequency of 50 Hz
  • 50 : 0.50 mm (thickness of the iron sheet)
  • A : fully processed
