Intersect

Extract curves resulting from the intersection of the sketch plane with selected parts or surfaces.

Create Intersection Curves

  1. On the Sketch ribbon, select the Intersect tool.

Tip: To find and open a tool, press Ctrl+F. For more information, see Find and Search for Tools.
  2. On the toolbar, select Parts to choose parts to intersect with the sketch plane, or select Surfaces to choose surfaces to intersect with the sketch plane.
  3. Select part(s) or surface(s) that intersect with the sketch plane to create intersection curves.
The intersection curves appear as a dotted red line or curve, and can interact with your new sketch.
  4. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
Note: When a sketch plane is defined on the face of a part (or an impression on the face of a part), the intersection curves are generated automatically. You can disable this option in the Preferences under Sketching > Show intersection curves on sketch plane creation.
