Sketching

    First define the part and then adjust the draw direction to create a draw die.

      Select a part and define the thickness and position.

    - Trim Pierce
      Define trim and pierce features of the part.
    - Flanges
      Define flange features in the part.
    - Symmetry
      Define the symmetry boundary conditions. You can define up to two symmetry planes. The second symmetry plane must be parallel or orthogonal to the first.
    - Defeature
      Select edges to close openings in a surface, or to sharpen or smooth where adjacent edges connect.
    - Set Form Direction
      Adjust the draw direction to minimize the depth and avoid negative drafts with the help of the Depth Box and Draft Analysis.
    - Extend (Part)
      Create one or more surfaces that extend the part to create a die, to aid in stretching and forming.
    - Double Attach
      Reflect a part along the symmetry plane, then connect the edge to the symmetry plane with a new surface.
- Draw Die
  Create the draw die.
- Flange Die
  Create the flange die.
- Die Compensate
  Modify the die shape to compensate for potential springback after the part is formed.
- Export Options
  Select an export method for your simulation data.

Troubleshooting: Can't Select a Part

Condition

I can't select a part. It's displaying in red.

Cause

You've selected a solid. You can assign only a surface as part.

Remedy

From the solid, you can create a surface using the Surface Extract tool.

Now you can select the surface when assigning the part.
