- What is Altair Inspire?
  Inspire is a concept design tool, which you can use to run structural optimization, finite element analysis, motion analysis, and additive manufacturing analysis.

  - Move Tool

    In Free movement mode, you can use the graphic manipulators to translate and rotate objects, reposition the Move tool, align the tool to a feature, and align parts to features.

    Translate objects along an axis or line, within a plane, or in 3D space.

- Systems
  The Systems tool is useful for aligning loads to a local coordinate system rather than the global coordinate system. Keep in mind that results are only shown in the global coordinate system.

Variables
Create and assign variables to parametrize a model. This allows you to quickly iterate and compare design concepts by tweaking the values of the variables.

Rotate Objects

Rotate objects around an axis.

Rotate Objects Around an Axis

Rotate objects around a reference axis with the ability to use a variable.

Select the Move tool, or press M or T.

Tip: To find and open a tool, press Ctrl+F. For more information, see Find and Search for Tools.
In the guide panel, select the Rotate tab.
Next to Part, the Select button is active. Select one or more objects.

Tip: Select Show Original Position to show the object's most recent position before it was last moved.
Define the Direction:
1. Next to Axis, the Select button is active. Select a line, axis, or cylinder.
  
  Note: When a cylinder is selected, objects move along the center line of the cylinder.
2. Define the rotation angle:
  - Enter an Angle, drag the slider, or assign a variable.
  - Drag the manipulator.
Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
