Specify Number of Voxels and Using Refinement Zones

For more accurate results, specify the number of voxels across inlets, outlets, narrow fluid paths, and thin solids.
  1. Prepare your model for a fluids analysis.
  2. Click the Custom Fluids Run satellite icon in the Analyze tool group.
Tip: To find and open a tool, press Ctrl+F. For more information, see Find and Search for Tools.

The Run Fluids Analysis window appears.

  3. Enter a value for Number of voxels. The value you enter should specify a voxel size that results in at least 6 to 8 voxels across an inlet, outlet, or a narrow fluid path. Use at least 4 voxels across thin solids.
  4. Use the Zone Refinement, Part Refinement, or Wall Refinement tools to achieve the desired resolution. See Set Up and Run a Fluids Simulationfor details on these controls.
  5. Re-run the simulation.
