Ribbons
The ribbon allows you to quickly access tools and standard functions, and is located along the top of the user interface. Click on an icon to open the related tool. Hovering over a group of icons may reveal additional tools.

- HyperStudy Overview

- User Interface
  Explore the user interface.
  - Menu Bar
    The menu bar contains pull-down menus that provide access to standard functions such as file management operations, system preferences, and help.
  - Ribbons
    The ribbon allows you to quickly access tools and standard functions, and is located along the top of the user interface. Click on an icon to open the related tool. Hovering over a group of icons may reveal additional tools.
    - Collapse or Expand the Ribbon
      Switch between having the ribbon collapsed or expanded.
  - Study Explorer
    The Study Explorer displays a hierarchical view of your study setup and approaches, and can be used to guide you through the study setup process.
  - Study Directory
    The Study Directory displays all of the files in the current study folder, that is the study in use in the Study Explorer.
  - Work Area
    The work area is where you define study models, input variables, output responses, and approach details, and post process results.
  - Message Log Window
    The Message Log window, located at the bottom of HyperStudy, logs warnings and errors encountered while you are conducting your investigation.
  - Status Bar
    The status bar, located at the bottom of HyperStudy, displays supplemental information about your study.

    Configure the view of HyperStudy.

- Common Use Cases for Setting Up a Study
  How you use HyperStudy depends on your model type, your simulation software and your design objectives among other factors. You can use HyperStudy as a standalone software or you can start it from another product.

  Once you have finished setting up your study, you will need to select one or more study approaches to find the answers to your study questions. The best combination of approaches and the best method to use for each approach depends on your application and objectives.

Collapse or Expand the Ribbon

Switch between having the ribbon collapsed or expanded.

To control this option, do one of the following:
- Go to View > Ribbons > Collapse Ribbon.
- Double-click a ribbon tab to collapse or expand the ribbon.
The selected mode persists across sessions. For example, if the application is closed while the ribbon is collapsed, it remains collapsed when you relaunch the application.
The ribbon is displayed above graphics and browsers and will not cause them to resize.
To dismiss the ribbon tab's tools/options while in collapse mode, click anywhere in the application.
Activating a tool or context while in collapse mode displays the guide bar, secondary toolbar, and workflow help on the left side of the modeling window, instead of under the active tool/context.

If you dismiss the ribbon while the tool/context is still active, the guide bar and workflow help shift up and the secondary toolbar remains hidden.

To display the secondary toolbar again, click the ribbon tab.
The guide bar and workflow help shift below the ribbon and the secondary toolbar is displayed.
After deactivating collapsed mode and returning to expanded mode, the guide bar, secondary toolbar, and workflow help display below their respective tool when selected.
