Import Material Data

Import material data using file formats such as Excel Sheet and Radioss Law 36 CAE cards.

Before you begin: Prepare the Exercise 2A Excel File.
  1. Open the file named Exercise 2A Standard Excel Format.
  2. Check the entire file for any errors or warnings.
  3. Open the Single Point sheet and then add in:
    • Row 2 with lists of material properties.

    • Row 3 with lists units for each property.

    • Row 6 to contain value keys (vkeys).

    • Row 8 enter your material names and property values here.

  4. Click the diagram_Stress-Strain sheet:
    • Enter reference temperature, strain, and stress values.

    • These values are used for graphical data.

  5. Click the diagram_Stress-Strain (computed) sheet:
    • Add strain rate values.

    • The columns H and I must contain strain and stress values.
Once the data is prepared and verified it is ready for import.
  1. On Admin Dashboard, click Import Materials.
  2. Upload material data files such as Excel and Radioss Law 36 material card in Upload Source Files.
    Note: AMDC has a functionality to create custom converters for importing data in specific formats into the DB.

    The suitable file extensions will be displayed automatically in the Reader list.

    AMDC will convert the input file to the standard JSON format and use it to load the material into the database.

  3. Click Import. The system will automatically display the import status and generate a downloadable import report.
    Note: If any errors occur during import they will be displayed in the report.
