Install Access Desktop Client

Install Access Desktop client on a workstation.

Note: Access Desktop Client is supported only on Windows 11 platforms.

Installation of Access Desktop Client is very simple and quick. A binary or executable needs to be downloaded or obtained using your usual Altair support channels. You will be asked to provide an installation directory to install the product.

For example, the binary or executable name will be AccessDesktopClient_<version>_<YYYYMMDD>.exe.

  1. Double-click the installer executable file.
  2. Read the introduction and click Next.
  3. Read the license agreement.
  4. Accept the license agreement by selecting the I accept the terms of the License Agreement checkbox and click Next.
  5. Enter the location where the Access Desktop client must be installed.
    You may choose to install in the default location.
    The default location is C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\local\Altair\AccessDesktop\Client
  6. Read the pre-installation summary and click Install.
  7. Click Done.
    Once the installation is complete, Access Desktop client shortcut is created ().
    You can also invoke the Access Desktop client from the Windows start menu.
