Thermal Transient

Thermal transient analysis is used to capture the thermal behavior of a system over a specific span of time. Boundary conditions vary with time. To calculate linear thermal transient analysis, the temperature dependent properties are ignored to maintain the material properties For non-linear thermal transient analysis, temperature dependent thermal properties applied to the material are included.

The integration method used to run the transient thermal solution is variable-order and variable-coefficient BDF (Backward Differentiation Formula) in fixed-leading-coefficient form.

  1. Specify the time span.
  2. Specify the number of output timesteps.
  3. Specify the initial temperature.
  4. Optional: Specify the initial temperature for specific parts.
  5. Optional: Check the temperature dependent properties to perform nonlinear thermal transient analysis.
