Session Navigation

Use the Session Browser to view the current session and all the pages and windows it contains in a hierarchical display.

To open the Session Browser, click View > Session Browser from the menu bar.

When an entity is selected from the Session Browser tree, its properties and values are displayed in the Entity Editor.

The fields displayed in the Entity Editor are dependent on whether the Page or Window entity type is selected from the Session Browser tree.

The image below shows the property information for a page selected from the Session Browser tree. Notice how the page data is grouped by category: Standard, Display, and Basic. Each category can be expanded/collapsed to display or hide the properties contained in it.

Use Add as Filter to Define Search Parameters

To apply a filter on an entity, right-click on the entity's property in the Entity Editor and select Add as filter, as shown below.

The filter is added to the search field at the top of the browser. If you add more than one filter type, it will be added to the search field, with the word AND, as shown below. In this example, the PNG format and the HyperView client were both added as filters.

Reorder Pages in the Session Browser

Use the drag-and-drop method on the tree to reorder pages.

  1. From the Session Browser, select one page at a time and drag it onto the target page, or one of its windows.
    The dragged page is inserted before the dropped page/window’s page.
Or, you can swap windows on a page using the drag-and-drop method.
  1. Select a window in the tree and drag it onto another window on the same page.

Create and Edit Tags

Create and edit tags for entities in the Session Browser.

  • To create a tag for a new entity in the Session Browser, right-click on the entity and select Create Tag. Enter a tag name and select its format from the drop-down menu.
  • To view, rename, delete, or change the format for tags while in the Session Browser, right-click and select Tag Table from the context menu.

Transfer Data to PowerPoint

Transfer data to PowerPoint from the session with respect to what is selected/highlighted in the Session Browser.

Any publish settings defined in the Entity Editor will be ignored.
Right-click on a page or window in the Session Browser and select Quick Publish.
A new page is always created in the PowerPoint file.
