EdgeOps
Altair IoT Studio EdgeOps is a set of tools for building, maintaining and continuously improving code in resource constrained devices at the edge of smart connected ecosystems.
Edge devices allow a physical device in industrial ecosystems to connect to an IoT platform and establish a connection where the physical device can send data to the platform and receive data from the platform. The edge device will be the intermediate piece to enable communication with the platform of devices using industrial protocols (such as OPC-UA, BACnet, LoRaWAN, Modbus, Canbus). They are also needed when the user wants to perform some operations at the edge to reduce latency and ease the operations.
Edge Ops is a toolset that provides useful methods for keeping track of all your deployed code, monitoring it, and packaging up code for future deployments.
Altair IoT Studio also provides the "Edge Compute Platform", an open-architecture platform for the edge which runs on resource constrained devices, for example the Raspberry Pi or Intel NUC. It eases the process of edge development, such as developing for specific chip architectures, ensuring data veracity, connecting to various communication protocols, monitoring resource use, and establishing remote access with a terminal or logs.
