Weight & Balance Engineering, also known as Mass Properties Engineering, is the technical discipline which refers
to the prediction, determination, management and tracking of the weight, Center of Gravity, and Moment of Inertia
for a new product.
WA allows you to attach external documents to single parts at the Concept, Development, Parts Catalog, and Analytics
levels, and similar to document attachments at the Program, Version, Variant, and Product levels. You can upload
and group the files under three pre-defined categories such as General, Technical, and Planning. You can also upload
files at the top level outside of these three categories.
The Multiple Item Selection functionality facilitates the selection of multiple parts so that you can modify the attributes
(maturity, for example) of the selected parts with common attribute values. When you edit multiple parts at the same
time, all the selected parts are updated with the same values.
Weight Analytics offers a context-sensitive right-click and an expand/collapse on the nodes functionality on all pages including the
Home page and the Product Selection page in the tree view.
WA allows you to perform advanced searches at the Concept, Development, Analytics, and Parts Catalog levels to search
for parts in the BoM that belong to each product.
The Programs > Management page allows you to create and manage programs in the database. A Program structure includes Versions, Variants, and Products
in the order of hierarchy.
WA provides a powerful and comprehensive mission simulation module which allows you to calculate the evolution of the weight
during the flight and to monitor how this curve changes over the product life cycle.

To select multiple items:
This functionality is available in the BoM Management
section of Weight Analytics.
Note: You cannot have the unit weight defined with
empty maturity or vice versa. When you modify the maturity of parts with
different weights, the weights of all the parts are modified.
Click the Enable multiple selection icon.
Each row in the part list displays check boxes that enable your
selection.
Select the checkboxes for the parts that require modifications.
The Open popup for multiple part changes. icon is enabled.
Click the icon.
The Multiple part modification window is displayed.
Modify the attributes of the selected parts in this window and click Apply changes.
