Premium Access to AMDC allows you to leverage advanced search using multiple search criteria, compare materials, and
view curve data. You can also download CAE material data in the required units to your workstation.
Launch the application to access the Altair material data. You can customize and launch the application from Favorite
Apps, on the Altair One Home page.
View information such as material name, quality, type, provider, version, chemical composition of a material, material
test information, and detailed material properties.
The material properties data such as Fatigue Properties, Mechanical Properties is displayed. The tested data for these
properties is also displayed as supplied by the provider.
Many materials have multi point data associated with them (For example, stress-strain data or PVT data for molding
applications). Such data can be viewed as a plots in AMDC.
Advanced Search allows you to build a search query by combining multiple search criteria. Use filters to find properties
and define value ranges. You can also add filters such as availability of plots, certifications or regional availability
to quickly find relevant materials.
Download simulation-ready files to your local workstation.
You can choose a solver or CAE application name, material model, units and then
export the selected material as CAE data. You can add generic data from the product
composition for the missing material properties data. You can encrypt the CAE file data
before downloading for Optistruct and Radioss Solvers.
To download a CAE
file:
Choose one of the following:
Double-click the material.
Hover over a material, click
A window opens to the right.
By default, the Info tab displays the general
information of the selected material.
Note: Click
to view the material information in a full
screen mode.
Click CAE Model.
The CAE Model tab is displayed.
Select the solver or CAE application name from the Select
Software list.
The exported file can be used in the selected solver or CAE
application.
To view list of softwares from generic data, select the Include
generic data check box.
Click Select Software drop down list to view the
updated software list.
Select the solver specific material law, from the Select
Model list.
Some applications support only one material law, for example: Inspire and
SimSolid.
For generic data, Inspire Mold, the Select Model
value is preselected.
Select the required unit system from the Select Unit
list.
For generic data, Inspire Mold, the Select Unit
value is preselcted.
During export, the model will be converted to the chosen unit system.
Enter an identification number for the material in Material
Id.
Note: You can use the arrow keys
to select a number. By default, the material id
is 1000.
Click Download.
The CAE Model is downloaded to your personalized download location on
your local workstation.
