Set up your foam part, nozzles, materials, tooling and process parameters prior to analysis.
- Pouring Cup Test
  Use the basin (cup) icon to run an optional pouring cup test to evaluate a material that you want to assign to your model for a foaming simulation.
- Foam Part
  Use the Foam Part icon to designate the foam part in your model geometry.
- Nozzle
  Use the Nozzle icon to define a path or stationary set of injection points for the nozzle to release the foaming material into the mold.
- Materials
  Review, create, import, export, modify and assign materials through the Materials dialog.
  - Assign Materials
    Select a material from the Materials Database or My Materials tab on the Materials dialog.
  - Create/Edit Materials
    Customize an existing material and add it to My Materials.
  - Import/Export Materials
    Import or Export materials from the Materials dialog.
  - Material Properties
    Material properties are accessible from the Materials Database and My Materials tabs in the Materials dialog.
- Tooling
  Use the tools in the Tooling sub-ribbon to designate Velcro components, designate inserts, designate guiders, create or designate a mold, create a nonwoven backing cloth, and create vents.
PolyFoam Analysis
Run an analysis to minimize defects and prevent manufacturing problems for a foam part design.

Import/Export Materials

Import or Export materials from the Materials dialog.

If you want to import or export a material from the Altair Material Data Center, first download the material to your local system.

Import Materials

Click the View Materials button on the nozzle microdialog.
Select the Import button on the bottom of the Materials dialog.
Navigate to the new material .xml file.
Select Open.
Name and save the file.
The new material is saved to the Materials user database and can be assigned to a model from My Materials tab.

Export Materials

Select any material from the Materials dialog.
Click the Export button on the bottom of the Materials dialog.
Navigate to the directory where you want to export the material .xml file on your local system.
Name and save the material.
The material file is exported from the Materials database to the specified location and is accessible for sharing.
