Lock Security Setup

DFE input rule file (*.SDFEI) can be locked to prevent any modifications from users.

The purpose of the input file encryption is to keep a uniform set of rules throughout without tweaking them for certain application once the input setup is done by a designated person. Locked DFE input file can be used to verify a PCB design and only tweaked by the designated person.

Setup DFE Environment

To use the DFE input setup lock, you need to enable the Use Input File Lock checkbox in the PollEx - DFE Environment dialog.

  1. In the PollEx-DFE Input dialog, click Lock.
    Note: If the DFE input file is not saved, you are asked to save the file before setting a password.
  2. Enter the chosen password in the Password and Confirm boxes, and then click OK.

Unlock Input File

When you load a locked DFE input file, you will get a warning message of The selected file is encrypted.
