Material Test File List

The Material Test File List and file type values are auto-populated based on the selected Objective. The file type can be changed based on the type of file to be read or if numerical values are to be entered.

Here are the supported input file formats for various Material Tests.

The column marked Sel (selected) is used to mark the items to be included. Here, the default selected fields in the list are displayed in purple indicating that the material information will be read from a file and the file type is chosen from the selection to the right of the field. The check boxes are chosen based on the Objective and the output is automatically put in the Project Folder. After the file is selected, the file name should populate the field, and will be apparent after approving the fitting activity.

The Sur (surrogate) check box indicates that selected fields in the list will be sourced from a material other than the material listed in the General Information panel. This could be generic data, an alternate material of the same polymer family or one of these but modified to align with specifically tested points of the actual material being characterized.

The colors of the Material Test File List indicates: Please take note of the following guidelines regarding the application buttons:

  • The light pink buttons are optional. If the check mark is selected and the selection box to the right indicates that values should be entered there instead of importing a file, then scalar or vector values should be entered in the field as appropriate.

  • Click the Sel check box to add these parameters to the material development. Once selected, the color of the optional parameter button changes to purple and File Type list is auto-populated; change the file type if necessary.
    Note:
    • All buttons in the application that are blue-purple in color are used for file import operations or for selecting the project folder.
    • Buttons in cyan color are utilized for export or export preview functions.
    • If changes are made, a Save Changes button will be displayed. This button will toggle to yellow as a visual cue.
    • The dark green buttons are used to trigger fitting operations.
  • The other buttons in dark grey are inactive and this indicates data fit is not available for the relevant material fitting objective.
  • The parameter button changes to green after providing the material data, performing the fitting activity, and approving the model fit.
