  - Binary Files Version
    To provide more details regarding specific binaries used by MotionSolve, detailed version information about any binary used is printed into the MotionSolve log file.
  - Input and Output File Formats
    The MotionSolve input format, MotionSolve XML, is based on the XML standard. All model information is contained within the MotionSolve XML input file with one exception: the flexbody information is contained in an H3D file. The self-contained nature of MotionSolve XML is intended to ease the model sharing and free you from having to collect all the files referenced in your models.

    MotionSolve contains three modules: preproccesor, solver, and postprocessor.

    Included in MotionSolve is a script which runs all three MotionSolve modules in sequence to solve the multibody model and produce result files.

    The Run Solver panel in MotionView allows you to run MotionSolve directly from MotionView.
  - Use the ADAMS Dataset Language Input with MotionSolve
    You can submit ADAMS dataset language files (ADM and ACF) directly to MotionSolve, thus avoiding manual translation. The ADAMS model is first automatically translated into the MotionSolve XML format and then solved.

Run MotionSolve Using the Windows Start Menu

Follow these steps to run MotionSolve from the Windows Start menu.

From the Start menu, select All Programs > Altair <version number> > Compute Console.
The Altair Compute Console dialog is displayed:

Click Solver > Available Solvers > MotionSolve.
Click the file browser button, , to select the input file, which may be of the types identified in the Input and Output File Formats topic.
Click Run to launch MotionSolve.

Note: For an explanation of the options available in the Run Manager, please click Help → Solver Options Help from the Altair Compute Console dialog.
