Bearing

Introduction

Once the shaft is selected, the section of Bearing is unlocked, meaning that it is possible to access the bearing settings. There are two possible choices:
  • None: No dimension to declare. There is no bearing.
  • With bearings: Bearings characteristics must be defined - Structural data of bearings are then edited.
Remember: Once the housing is designed, the selection of both Shaft design and Bearing is mandatory for accessing the internal cooling topology design area.

Type of bearing

Note: When the machine is designed with bearings, they are represented and considered in the rotor design. See the different configurations below.

Input parameters – Validity domain

The user inputs dedicated to the definition of bearings are illustrated below.

Table 3. User inputs for defining the bearings

1 Bearing length
2 Bearing width
3 Bearing shift
  • C.S. length - Connection side bearing length:]0, 20000] mm
  • C.S. width - Connection side bearing width:]0, 20000] mm
  • C.S. shift - Connection side bearing shift:]0, 20000] mm
  • O.C.S. length - Opposite Connection side bearing length:]0, 20000] mm
  • O.C.S. width - Opposite Connection side bearing width:]0, 20000] mm
  • O.C.S. shift - Opposite Connection side bearing shift:]0, 20000] mm
