Housing
Inner rotor machine
In Motor Factory – Design area, the environment “Housing” allows to design the shape and dimensions of the machine frame and to design the associated cooling devices like the fins and the cooling circuit.
The user inputs, the cross section, the axial view and datasheet can be selected and displayed.
Three sections are available: Design, Fins and Circuit.
Important: For the outer rotor topology, only the circular-shaped frame is
available, but not the square-shaped frame, and similarly cooling devices such
as “Fin” and “Circuit” are not available for outer rotor topology.
Note: The illustrations below are based on the SMPM-IR machine.
However, the principles described apply to all machine types, including the
IMSQ-IR for instance.

that deal with the Housing: Design, Fin and Cooling circuit. Note: By default, the section Design is
selected. Note: Fin and Cooling are
available for inner rotor topology but not for outer rotor
topology. |
Outer rotor machines
In Motor Factory – Design area, the environment “Housing” allows to design the shape and dimensions of the machine frame.
The user inputs, the cross section, the axial view and datasheet can be selected and displayed.
One section is available: Design.
Important: Unlike
machines with an internal rotor, for the outer rotor topology, only the
circular-shaped frame is available, but not the square-shaped frame, and
similarly cooling devices such as “Fin” and “Circuit” are not available for
outer rotor topology.
Attention: The
illustrations below are based on the SMPM-OR machine. However, the principles
described apply to all machine types, including the IMSQ-OR for
instance.
