Change the Display Mode

Select a display mode for the scene.

Option Description
Display - Wireframe

The wireframe mode offers the fastest display. Objects are displayed as curve meshes.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Display - Wireframe .
  • Press 1.
Display - Shaded

The shaded mode is useful for seeing the shape of objects and how lights illuminate the scene.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Display - Shaded.
  • Press 2.
MatCap

The MatCap mode allows you to apply a "material capture" to an object. The MatCap is a complete material that includes lighting and reflection, to quickly sculpt or render the object.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , select MatCap, and then select Show MatCaps folder to choose an image.

    You can find shaders online.

Zebra

The zebra mode is useful for spotting discontinuities between adjacent surfaces.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , select Zebra Stripes, and then select horizontal or vertical stripes.
Performance Render
  • An interactive, physically-based renderer
  • High-speed rendering
  • Works on all GPUs
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , select Performance Render.
  • Press 5.
Quality Render
  • An interactive, ray tracing based renderer
  • Highest quality rendering fully featured with a built-in denoiser
  • Works only with GPUs with hardware ray tracing cores available
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , select Quality Render.
  • Press 7.
No Edges or Isoparms

View your model with no edges or isoparm lines.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select No Edges or Isoparms.
  • Press R.
Show Edges

View your model with edges only.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Show Edges.
  • Press T.
Show Edges and Isoparms

View your model with edges and isoparm lines.
  • In the view controls, click Display Modes , and then select Show Edges and Isoparms .
  • Press Y.
