Generating accurate material properties can be a time-consuming process, Altair Material Modeler (AMM) is a sophisticated modeling software that efficiently processes material data from testing to generate simulation-ready material cards for analyzing the nonlinear behavior of bulk materials as well as the various physical properties of materials, such as polymers and elastomers, used in the manufacture of modern products.

Elastoplastic Material Modeling
This chapter provides information from preparing data to generating a material card.
- Basic Settings
  To get started configure these basic settings.
- Prepare Raw Data
  To facilitate effective management of multiple files of test results, you should structure the raw data by format before importing it into AMM.
- Import Data
  Import data files from your local system.
- Import Data from AMDC
  Import data files from Altair Material Data Center (AMDC) to AMM.
- Prepare Data
  Each file in the list can be edited individually.
- Curve Fitting
  Each prepared curve is displayed in the Curve Fitting list. Select the desired curve for fitting.
- Extrapolation
  AMM provides multiple mathematical models for curve fitting and extrapolation according to solver requirements. Additionally, the expert mode enables you to create strain-rate curves, failure criteria, and run validation simulations.
- Generate Material Card
  Define the material solver card properties to create a material card.
  - Resolution of X-Axis
    Generate material card using the resolution of X-axis.
- Advanced Material Modeling
  The chapter provides information on the advanced details such as strain rate, failure, and simulation for a model.
- Side Toolbar
  Use the toolbar keys to save the session with configurations applied, reload, export curves, quit, and finish.
Multi-Physics Material Modeling
Altair Material Modeler is a collection of data fitting tools for polymers in a single cohesive studio environment with a workflow designed around using the results for various manufacturing and structural simulations including injection molding, extrusion, temperature-dependent structural simulation, short fiber multiscale modeling, and hyperelastics.

Generate Material Card

Define the material solver card properties to create a material card.

Select a fitted curve from the Select Curve list.

Select a solver card from the Select LAW list. The following material solver cards are supported:
- LAW36 (Radioss)
- MAT24 (LS-Dyna)
- MATS1 (OptiStruct)
- AutoForm
- Abaqus
- Ansys
Set the desired unit system for the output (Pa, MPa, GPa) and the resolution of the x-axis points (60, 80, 101).
Set the density to the unit system Ton/mm³. This value is converted to the target unit system.
Define the Poisson Ratio.
Select a Material ID.
Enter a name for the card.
Add a comment to the card.
Set the resolution of the x-axis equidistant.
Click Create Card to generate the material card.
