Export a BOM from Teamcenter

Export a Bill of Materials (BOM) from Teamcenter using the PLMXML format.

  1. Navigate to the assembly.
    1. Open the Teamcenter client.
    2. Locate the top-level assembly you wish to export.
  2. Open the Structure Manager.
    1. Right-click the assembly and select Send To > Structure Manager from the context menu.
  3. Launch the Export tool.
    1. In the Structure Manager dialog, select Tools > Export > To PLMXML from the menu bar.
  4. Configure export settings.
    1. Choose the desired export directory and enter a file name.
    2. Select a transfer mode.
      Consult your Teamcenter administrator or Siemens support contact to determine the correct transfer mode.

      Alternatively, you can use the out-of-the-box option: ConfiguredDataFilesExportDefault.

  5. Click OK to confirm the Close dialog and export the BOM.
    The system will generate the PLMXML file in the selected location.
Note:
  • Ensure you have the appropriate access rights to export data.
  • Ensure the assembly and its child parts are not checked out.
  • For large assemblies, export may take several minutes.
