Creating the Profile Solid

Use the Profiles tool to create the profile solid by extruding the exit surface of the existing profile part.

The length of the part is extruded in one billet cycle.

  1. From the Quenching ribbon, click the Profile tool.


  2. Select the surface.
    • If profile solid already exists, select the exit surface of the profile solid.


    • If there is no profile solid, select the 2D surface.


    Note: Click Ctrl to select multiple exit faces.
  3. Change the length of the profile in the microdialog and press Enter.
    By default, length is set to 2 m. The recommended value is the length that will be extruded in one billet cycle.


    The profile is recreated with the new length.
  4. Repeat the above steps to create a profile with multiple holes.
