Particles

Generate a uniformly distributed particles for the nanoFluidX solver.

Analysis > Particles

A model typically has solids that are stationary (outer container for example), solids that have assigned motion (gears, shafts, bearings etc.) and fluids phases: liquid or gas inside the container. To reduce the total number of particles and thus solver performance, the closed container inner volume - wetted surface, is identified and a thick region is created with minimum thickness of 3 particle layers.

The moving parts are modelled as hollow solids. The fluid regions are defined by a node contained in the fluid region. The fluid - fluid interface (mostly liquid - gas interface) is defined by the plane and the software automatically creates particles for both the fluid regions (liquid and gas).

Create Particles in SimLab

For particle creation, it is required to select the node inside the fluid regions. All solids that have attached motion will be automatically selected in the Moving Solids selection menu.

User can change the number of discretization layers that in Advanced options.
