Magnetic Transient: Adjustment of the time step / Prediction-correction algorithm
Introduction
This section deals with the adjustment of the time step.
The choice of the time step value used in solving a finite element model is essential; it must be small enough to properly take into account the problem physical phenomena and big enough not to create a prohibitive computation time as result of useless intermediate time steps.
The choice of time step value can be managed automatically by Flux via the adjustment of the time step (or the prediction-correction algorithm).
The adjustment of the time step is available in transient applications (Magnetic Transient and Thermal Transient).
