# Limitations

## Introduction

Some limitations remain for this new application :

## Geometry and domain

- Symmetries non supported.
- Periodicities non supported.

## Mesh

- The mesh should not be too refined in order to take advantage of this new methodology without overloading the solver which needs to inverse a full matrix.
- Consequently, it is advised not to import the mesh from an external tool.
- The elements of a mesh must be of the same type (only tetrahedrons or hexahedrons, but do not mix both).
- No pyramids or prisms (the extrusive mesh is not recommended).

## Physics

- Linear isotropic
- Isotropic analytic saturation (arctg, 2 coef.)
- Isotropic analytic saturation + knee adjustment (arctg, 3 coef.)
- Isotropic spline saturation
- Linear magnet described by the Br module
- Linear magnet described by cartesian vector Br

- Only magnetic non-conducting volume regions are available.
- No face regions, line regions and point regions.

- No non-meshed saddle coils.
- No non-meshed multi saddle coils.
- No non-meshed coils in open path.

## Parameters / Quantities

- No sensors.
- No Import/Export context.
- In general, the use of import and export functionalities is not recommended.

## Solving

- Solving of the linear system with GMRES only.
- Solving of the non-linear system with Newton-Raphson algorithm.

## Post-processing

- No losses computation (iron losses & joule losses).
- Available quantities : torque, force, magnetic flux and energy.
- Only the isovalues and isolines of B and H are available.
- B and H can be displayed on 2D and 3D grids in the air.
- No Import/Export context
