Create Responses

Create output responses for the entire model, points, or individual parts.

To create a response you must first create at least one sensor. Open the Run Analysis tool and, in the Advanced tab, use the Add Sensor button to place a sensor.
  1. From the Design Explorer ribbon, select the Responses tool.

    Tip: To find and open a tool, press Ctrl+F. For more information, see Find and Search for Tools.
  2. To add individual responses for more than one sensor at a time, in the guide bar, enable Add a Response for Each Selection.
  3. Select one or more sensors to create responses, then, in the guide bar, click the button to confirm the selection.
    The Response window opens.
  4. In the Response window, configure the response.

    Response Name field Change the response's name.
    Stage Select from the list of casting result stages.
    Result Type Select from the list of result types.
    Note: The list will change based on the stage selected above.
    Request Select from a list of request types.
    Goal Enable to set a goal of minimizing or maximizing the value of the variable(s) in the response.
    Add Constraint Add a constraint to the response.
    Note: A maximum of two restraints are supported.
    Constraint Choose >= or <=.
    Note: Units will change based on the Result Type selected above.
  5. Use the dropdown menu on the guide bar to select the type of response you want to create.
  6. Select the model, components, or points for which you want to create a response.
