Create Drawbead

Create a drawbead from a bead line.

  1. On the ribbon, click the Die Design tab.
  2. Click the Drawbead icon.

  3. Select the Drawbead tool on the secondary ribbon.

  4. Select the die.
    If you created a matching die and would like the drawbead created on both dies, use box selection to select both dies.
  5. Select the bead line(s).
  6. In the guide bar, select the bead shape.
    • Rectangular
    • Circular
  7. In the guide bar, select the endbead shape.
    • Tangent Endbead
    • Elliptical Endbead
    • Round Endbead
  8. In the guide bar, select a trim option, and then right-click to confirm.
    • Trim and Edge Fillet
    • Trim and Face Fillet
  9. Optional: If you would like to adjust the fillet radius, click a fillet, and enter a Radius.
  10. Right-click to create the drawbead.
  11. Edit the drawbead.

    Add a bead profile While holding down Alt, click anywhere on the bead line.
    Create copies of a bead profile
    1. In the guide bar, click Edit Drawbead.
    2. Select Copy Drawbead.
    3. Select a source bead profile.
    4. While holding down Alt, click anywhere on the bead line.
    Change a bead profile Length or Radius
    1. Click a handle, enter a Radius, then press Enter.
    2. Click a handle, enter a Length, then press Enter.
    Edit a bead profile shape
    1. Click a bead profile.
    2. In the guide bar, select Rectangular or Circular.
    Edit an endbead angle Click the blue point on the end of the bead.
    • Click the white arrow, enter an Endbead Angle, then press Enter.
    • Drag the white arrow.
    Note: The endbead angle has minimum and maximum angles of 20 and 60 degrees.
    Copy the parameters from one bead profile to another
    1. In the guide bar, select Pass Drawbead Parameters.
    2. Select a source bead profile.
    3. While holding down Alt, select the target bead profiles.
    4. Right-click and select Update.
    Clear the selection In the guide bar, click .
  12. Right-click and mouse through the check mark to exit, or double-right-click.
