New Features
- Results across datum planes
- All results can be plotted and queried across manually defined datum planes. Datum planes can be defined from the Assembly workbench and results can be plotted and queried across them once the analysis is finished running.
- Import and export of superelements
- Superelements can be exported using a new workbench called Structural superelement export, where stiffness matrix and load matrix can be exported. The superelement exports to a DMIG file and requires importing interface points. Load matrix is exported only when the loads and boundary conditions are defined.
- Temperature-dependent structural material properties
- Temperature-dependent structural material properties can be defined and used in structural linear analysis. Temperature-dependent elastic modulus, Poisson’s ratio, density, and thermal expansion coefficient are supported. They can be defined manually or can be imported from a CSV file.
- Assign rigid bodies from a file
- Rigid bodies can now be set by importing a CSV file. The CSV file would contain the part name and the mass of the part that would be assigned on import.
- Assign skin thickness from a file
- Skin thickness can be assigned by importing a CSV file. The CSV file should contain the skin name and part thickness. Upon importing the thickness, the skins will inflate to sheets with specified thicknesses.
- Rivets along coaxial holes
- Virtual rivets can be created along coaxial holes. The coaxial holes are automatically recognized and populated. The holes can also be of different dimensions.
- SimSolid Connect for Siemens NX
- SimSolid Connect is now available for Siemens NX. With this extension, you can transfer the geometry between NX and a new/existing session of SimSolid seamlessly without using geometry files. The add-in is automatically populated in the drop-down menu once SimSolid is installed.
- Set part type as protruded
- During geometry import, SimSolid automatically recognizes protruded parts. This recognition ensures efficient geometry decomposition of such parts.
Enhancements
- Reactions at remote displacement point
- Reactions are output at remote point coordinates of remote displacement.
- Legend and min/max for dynamic analysis
- In dynamic analysis, the legend and the min/max of a response is adjusted based on the displayed parts.
- Pick load for loads applied on spots and general connector
- Pick load is supported for forces or remote loads applied to spots and general connectors. This is supported for both structural and dynamic analysis.
- Structural-thermal load cases for fatigue analysis
- Structural load cases linked to transient thermal analysis with multiple time steps can now be included in fatigue analysis.
- Others
-
- Import of spot welds from CSV file now has an option to use part names as keywords.
- A new option to input geometry type is included in batch mode. This option chooses between skins, solids, and skins and solids.
- Modal participation factors ratio is now included for modal analysis.
- Distributed mass has additional info. such as total area, total mass and mass per area included.
- The mapping of imported thermal boundary conditions is improved. It includes fast read time and checking for the quality of imported data too and mapping valid and complete data only.
- Geometry error check includes issues with skins as well.
- Improved export of connection reaction forces to CSV when bushings are involved.
- Cable/rod reactions are available for all the steps of a geometric nonlinear analysis.
- Parasolid has been updated to version 36.1.212.
- Improved memory handling for large assemblies that can result in faster runtimes.
- Updated CAD import formats
- The list of supported CAD formats has been updated as:
File Format Supported Versions Pro Engineer 13 – Creo 11 NX/Unigraphics (.prt) 11.1 – CR2406 CATIA V5 (.CATPart, .CADProduct) R8 to R34 (V5-6 R2024)
Known Issues
The following known issues will be addressed in a future release as we continuously
improve performance of the software.
- Issues with linear guide joint under virtual connectors.
Deprecated Features
- In the Legend, Set output units to temporarily set output units has been removed. The output units can still be set from the Project Tree.
- Prestressed modes is not supported for orthotropic material, so this has been disabled.
- Find collisions is not supported for post study, so this has been disabled.
